RETURN THE FAVOR

doc buzzard in your cart
drawn by a pair of fancy goats
when you passed my house in the night
you dropped a name for my brother

I know your daughters vowed
to have no children
but one lied and so
many of us had our birth

you wear the disguise of many men
for money you heal the sick
for no money you load them in the cart
and simply haul them away

doc buzzard your goats are led by chance
to my house in the middle of the night
there is a square sided iron nail
I keep in a drawer for you

I think it held your house together
and I would give it back
if I could wake when you pass
and remember to call out your name
