WHY WE SAY

good
     morning is to show
                        we escaped
the dark house of sleep
                        the beckoning
of its false lights
                    its moat of silence
                                        brimming
with chemistry drawn
                     from the hearts of bears
and for now
            we are back
                        to front with
each other in
              a naked room
                           moving in grateful
slowness
         with another
                      good chance
of rising in the way
                     we fell asleep
through passion
                me turning
                           to you or
you to me
          the perilous night
                             back of us
it falls behind
                farther and forever
each skin is finally escaped
                             to the other
and the dark
             the silence
                         is gone again
is
   gone
        again
